Stuff that I like to do online:

My Letterboxd Account

I like to log the movies that I watch, and I use Letterboxd to do that. I also like to write about what I'm watching. I'm not really writing for anyone in particular, I just write stuff because I feel like it. I don't really care if anyone reads it, or nobody reads it. It's just something to do to pass the time.

My Last.fm Account

I also like to scrobble the music that I'm listening to. Last.fm tracks everything that I've been listening to digitally (i.e not vinyl or compact disc). There's no real reason for this either, it's just interesting to look back over the year and see what I've been listening to, and when. It helps me remember things, which is handy.

My Rate Your Music Account

This is where I review music. A lot of the reviews that are currently on my RYM account are from a Facebook group that I used to be on, but I kind of hate social media now, and I don't really want to post stuff in an environment where I can 'get likes' or people can tell me that I'm an idiot. I'm just writing them for me, so I'm not really looking to get into an argument with random internet people. I like RYM quite a bit, I use it and Discogs to look up albums and song titles.

My Retroachievements Account

This is where I compete with other nerds for scores and achievements in emulated classic games. I am not very good, but I am practicing to get better. Unfortunately, Retroachievements doesn't support every system that I play on (No Commodore 64! Boo!), but it supports enough of them to be worthwhile. I really want to get better at shmups like In The Hunt, but I just don't have the skills. Oh well. Maybe one day.

Other stuff

The Internet Archive: http://archive.org

I love The Internet Archive. You can see the web as it used to be, back before it was demolished by horrible corporations and shitty design. I could spend hours looking at old Geocities sites.

Textfiles.com: http://textfiles.com

Text files were the lifeblood of the young digital native in the 1990's, and this site is a massive collection of them. Read usenet posts from the night that the final episode of Twin Peaks was broadcast! Read Phrack magazine! Read old issues of cDc! It's all here!
